Nyuma Harrison is a Zambian-born, globally raised and educated healthcare practitioner, business leader and philanthropist.
Her professional profile includes 20+ years of experience as an emergency nurse, clinical mentor and practice leader at some of the busiest trauma centers in the U.S. including Howard University Hospital inWashington D.C, and the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Her experiences also include time spent on the academic end of nursing at top-ranked institutions such as Johns Hopkins University and the Catholic University of America. In 2019, she was named “Nurse Leader of the Year” by Nurse Hub Africa.
Beyond her formal roles, Nyuma has proven herself as a trailblazer; adept at identifying gaps and creatively collaborating with others to develop SMART and sustainable solutions. She is a highly sought after project partner and board advisor to organizations including the RISE Zambia Scholarship Foundation and the Organization for Women and Children’s Rights In Africa (WACRIA).
Nyuma holds an Executive Master’s in Leadership degree from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Howard University. She has also completed multiple certificate programs from Johns Hopkins University, Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
